Stock Market Updates: Sensex Gains 250 pts, Nifty Above 18,650; Zee Ent Down 4%

Sensex Today: Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty started on a positive note on Tuesday ahead of the US CPI inflation report for May due later today.

Global cues

Asian markets were mixed this morning with Nikkei, Kospi rising up to 1.5 per cent. Strait times and Hang Seng fell 0.5 per cent each.

Overnight in the US, the S&P 500 jumped 0.93 per cent to close at over a 13 month-high. The Dow gained 0.56 per cent and the Nasdaq zoomed 1.53 per cent.

The FDA staff made the conclusion in briefing documents ahead of a meeting on Thursday when a panel of external advisors to the agency will discuss whether to recommend full approval of the RSV shot . The advisors will vote on whether Pfizer's late-stage clinical trial data on the vaccine supports its safety and efficacy. The FDA typically follows the advice of its advisory committees, but is not required to do so. The agency is slated to make a decision on whether to clear the shot in August before RSV season in the fall.
