In an exclusive interview with Cricket Pakistan, PCB chair Ashraf told that the cricket committee was formed to look after all crucial matters and to pan out better suggestions for the improvement of Pakistan cricket. "I formed a cricket committee as soon as I held the office, which is headed by Misbah-ul-Haq. The committee will look after all the cricketing matters," Ashraf said. The 70-year-old also stated that for now, the coaching staff is performing well so far, but PCB is banking on the Misbah-led committee to decide the coaching staff's future. [ad_1] In December last year, the government dismissed Ramiz Raja and formed a management committee headed by Najam Sethi to take over the affairs of the PCB.  The committee was given 120 days to restore regional and departmental cricket and the 2014 constitution. It was also given the task of forming a 10-member governing board and appointing a chairman. Its term was to be completed on April 21. However, things seemed to be simple at first. However, the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Affairs objected to the appointment of the Election Commissioner. Then only a two to four-week summary was sent to the Prime Minister's House to extend the committee's tenure.  Minister Ehsan ur Rehman Mazari belongs to PPP. Interestingly, the committee got a two-month extension, likely ending on June 22. Zaka Ashraf was PCB's chairman in the previous regime of PPP. He remained the head and was removed from office after the change of government; later, he had a legal battle with Naja

Pakistan cricketers seek overhaul of central contracts

Image
[ad_1] The central contracts of Pakistan cricketers for the 2022-23 period expired on June 30th. There were talks of a possible one-month extension, but so far, no agreement has been signed. During this time, the players have raised various concerns that they wish to discuss with Zaka Ashraf, the head of the PCB management committee. One significant issue the players are raising is their remuneration. The previous management committee had suggested a 45% increase, but the players are seeking more than just a raise. They believe that a complete overhaul of their contracts is necessary because they feel they are being underpaid compared to cricketers from other countries. According to a recent research report, even players like Babar Azam, ranked as the number one ODI batter, do not rank among the top 10 highest-earning cricketers globally. The players want the PCB to conduct its own research and establish a system that ensures their financial security in the future. Another d
