[ad_1] The aviation regulator DGCA ordered airlines to create and clearly publish on their websites a pet transportation policy on Tuesday. Animals, birds, and reptiles are permitted on aeroplanes travelling to, through, and inside India. Pets are currently allowed onboard at least two Indian airlines, Air India and Aksa Air. Pets may fly domestically in the cargo hold with SpiceJet. A senior official at the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has not yet issued any Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) or guidelines with regard to carriage of pets in passenger compartment. The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has permitted their airlines to have their own respective policies for carriage of pets in cabin.
