WATCH: David Warner Becomes Second Australian To Score A Century In 100th Test Match

[ad_1] While David Warner had not scored a century in Test match cricket since 2020, the left-handed batter chose quite an occasion to get to his hundred when he notched up a ton in his 100th Test. The 36-year-old achieved the feat during Day 2 of the Boxing Day Test match against South Africa at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia. The Aussie opener thus became only the second Australian to score a hundred in his 100th Test after former captain Ricky Ponting who had also achieved the feat against the same opposition back in 2006. [ad_1] Australian opener David Warner's joy of bringing up a record double hundred in his 100th Test match in the ongoing Boxing Day Test  against South Africa was rather short-lived as he injured himself while celebrating his achievement. It happened on the second day of the Test match when he brought up his double hundred off  254 balls to become only the second batter after England's Joe Root to score a double century in his 100th Test match. Ecstatic celebrations followed from the 36-year-old who ended his nearly 3 year long wait of a Test hundred. While he would have looked to continue to accumulate runs, the southpaw seemingly injured himself while pulling off his characteristic jump celebration.
