Afridi still going strong, takes wickets of Rizwan and Rassie in GT20 Canada

Former Pakistan captain, Shahid Afridi, delivered a scintillating spell for Toronto Nationals, that resulted in the dismissal of the top T20 batters of the Vancouver Knights during a thrilling match in the ongoing Global T20 Canada 2023 on Wednesday.

Afridi displayed his bowling skills by claiming two crucial wickets, including those of Mohammad Rizwan, who scored 27 runs, and skipper Rassie Van der Dussen, who could only manage 2 runs.

Thanks to Afridi's outstanding display with the ball, Knights found themselves struggling and were ultimately restricted to a mere 128 runs after losing seven wickets in the first innings.

During the intense chase, the Toronto Nationals also faced a daunting challenge in their bid to reach the target. 

Although Afridi showcased an impressive performance with the ball, his batting prowess wasn't at its peak as he was bowled out after contributing eight runs. Unfortunately, this was a setback for the Toronto side, leading to a quick succession of wickets and hindering their chase. 

Ultimately, they fell short of the target and were bowled out for 103 runs in just 15.5 overs, resulting in a 25-run defeat in the match.
