The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) has invited applicants for the post of director. Interested candidates can send their applications to the Ministry of Education by November 30. The candidates are required to provide a detailed resume which highlights their achievements and also mentions their plans and vision for the institution. They have to provide contact details of at least two important people who are familiar with their career achievements.
The last date for submission of the resume is November 30.
Salary: Rs 2,25,000 per month, along with other allowances according to the rules.
Eligibility Criteria:
The candidate must be a holder of a PhD or an equivalent, preferably in Engineering. In some cases, PhD holders in Mathematics, Science or Management can also be considered. Such candidates must have an exceptionally good academic record, with a teaching experience of at least ten years as a professor of a recognised institution. They should have at least five years of experience in administrative work and have exceptional leadership qualities as well. The candidates should also have mentored PhD students.
Age Limit:
The applicant must be less than 60 years of age, as of the last date of application. They will be given the job on the basis of a five-year contract or until they reach the age of 70 years.
The following information should be written in bold on the envelope holding the application form: ‘APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF DIRECTOR, IIT BOMBAY’ The candidate has to submit one copy of the same form electronically as well.
IIT Bombay is located in Powai, Mumbai, Maharashtra, and it was established in 1958. To get admitted to the prestigious institute, the students have to qualify for JEE (Joint Entrance Examinations), JAM (Joint Admission Test for Masters, and GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering).
