AICTE has invited applications from AICTE-approved institutions for the disbursement of PG scholarships to eligible students who possess a valid GATE/CEED scorecard
The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is currently accepting online applications from AICTE-approved institutions for the disbursement of postgraduate scholarships to eligible students who have gained qualifying marks and possess a valid GATE/CEED scorecard. These scholarships are available for first-year students in the academic year 2023–24, admitted to AICTE-approved institutes and programmes and Master of Engineering, Master of Technology, and Master of Design/MArch programmes within the approved intake through DBT.
Furthermore, institutes must create a student’s ID or facilitate online application submission by the students by November 30. The last date for verification by the institute is December 15. Moreover, students pursuing postgraduate courses with valid GATE/ CEED scores and who are admitted to AICTE-approved institutes/ programmes and within approved intake must collect a unique ID from the institute. After getting the Unique ID, candidates can log in at pgscholarship.aicte-india.org for uploading the scanned copies of all original documents in JPG/JPEG format only.
The scholarship is entitled only to the students who qualify for the following eligibility criteria:
— Possessing a valid GATE/CEED score at the time of admission
— Must be admitted as a full-time scholar
— Final year students of dual degree integrated programmes would also be entitled to the postgraduate scholarship from the 9th semester onwards
— Admitted in AICTE approved Institutions/University Departments and AICTE approved programme Master of Engineering, Master of Design and Master of Technology
— The number of postgraduate scholarships is limited to the AICTE-approved intake in the programme in that year
However, in addition to the approved intake, AICTE will provide the PG scholarship to the additional 10 per cent of candidates over and above the approved intake of that course from the Economically Weaker Section category, if the university/ institute has admitted students from EWSs. The AICTE notified that sponsored candidates, foreign students, and candidates admitted in PG programs through management quota are not eligible for the Scholarship.
The bank account should be ACTIVE with an Aadhar card. The students can refer to the manual link to check the status of their bank account linkage status with Aadhar at pgscholarship.aicteindia.org. Only active savings bank accounts linked with Aadhar will be considered since the PG Scholarship is disbursed through the Aadhaar Bridge Payment System (ABPS) mode via the Public Financial Management System (PFMS).
It is to be noted that no-frill account, bank account having limits on transactions or credits, Jan Dhan account and joint account are not permissible for this scholarship application. Once the documents are submitted, the institute will undertake the verification of the student’s data and approve his or her candidature on the portal. Upon approval, the eligibility for disbursement of the scholarship will be confirmed.
