Pakistan cricket's celebratory video without major players sparks backlash
On the 76th Independence Day of Pakistan, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) released a celebratory video featuring the legends of the game who contributed majorly in making Pakistan cricket relevant and known on the world map.
The video was a heartfelt tribute to all legendary cricket stars who helped in shaping the history of the game.
The video included the likes of Javed Miandad, Wasim Akram, Shoaib Akhtar, Waqar Younis, Shahid Afridi, and Babar Azam. It also had snippets of memorable wins in Pakistan's cricket history, including the 1992 World Cup, the T20 World Cup 2009, and the Champions Trophy 2017.
The caption of the video reads, "Making history isn't just about one day; it's about the legends we create and the tales we script. Pakistan Cricket Team – a legacy that echoes through time."

However, PCB received heavy criticism from fans as it was missing major former players or were barely shown in the two-minute, 21 seconds video - including 1992 World Cup winning captain Imran Khan, Mohammad Yousuf and Saeed Anwar.
It is worth noting that Yousuf holds the record for scoring the most number of Test runs in a calendar year.
In 2006, he scored an incredible 1788 runs in just 11 matches at an impressive average of 99.33. During this period, Yousuf managed to score nine centuries and three half-centuries.
On the other hand, Anwar is most notable for scoring 194 runs against India in Chennai in 1997, the highest score for that time. He participated in three Cricket World Cups and captained Pakistan in seven Tests and 11 ODIs.
