The TN board half-yearly exam for classes 6 - 10 will take place between December 11 and 21 while those for classes 11 and 12 will be held from December 7 to 22
The Tamil Nadu Department of School Education has issued the schedule for the 2023-24 academic year’s half-yearly examinations. Students in classes 6 through 12 now have access to the date sheet for their half-yearly tests which will be conducted in December. The Tamil Nadu board half-yearly test for students in classes 11 and 12 will take place from December 7 to December 22. Examinations for Classes 11 and 12 will be administered by the Directorate from 9:45 am to 12:45 pm and 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm, respectively. Students will be given 10 minutes of reading time prior to the start of the tests. The half-yearly exam for students in classes 6 through 10 will take place between December 11 and December 21.
Students in classes 6 to 10 will take the language paper examination on December 11. The exam for the optional language course is scheduled for December 12. The English language exam will take place on December 13. The exam for Science is scheduled to be held on December 15, and that for Mathematics will be conducted on December 18. According to SCERT, the examinations for social science and physical education will take place on December 20 and 21, respectively.

According to local media reports, two distinct sets of question papers will be designed for students in classes 6 through 12. SCERT, the State Institute of Educational Training and Research, is in charge of preparing the question papers and timetable for the exams. The TN class 10 and 12 examinations will begin on March 1 as per the board exam 2024 schedule. The class 10 board examination concludes on March 26, 2024, while the class 12 board exam will end on March 22, 2024. In the meantime, the Tamil Nadu Class 12 and Class 10 practical examinations are scheduled for February 12–17 and February 23–29, respectively.
