Para mi padre fui hijo, hija, él, ella, ello

Image

[ad_1] Russian President Vladimir Putin pledged Saturday to defend the country and its people from an armed rebellion declared by Wagner Group chief Yevgeny Prigozhin, describing the call to action as a treasonous decision that puts the country’s survival in peril. In a televised address Saturday morning, Putin said the mutiny amounted to "a deadly threat to our statehood," vowing there will be "tough actions" in response. "All those who prepared the rebellion will suffer inevitable punishment," Putin stated. "The armed forces and other government agencies have received the necessary orders." While he did not call Prigozhin out by name, he described the rebellion as a "criminal adventure, a grave crime, an armed mutiny" and encouraged those involved to "stop participating in criminal acts." Pasteurized Dairy Foods Free of Live Bird Flu, Federal Tests Confirm

Image
[ad_1] Additional testing of retail dairy products from across the country has turned up no signs of live bird flu virus, strengthening the consensus that pasteurization is protecting consumers from the threat, federal health and agriculture officials said at a news briefing on Wednesday. But the scope of the bird flu outbreak in cattle remains unclear, as dairy herds are not routinely tested for the infection, scientists and other experts have noted. Just one human infection, which was mild, has been reported, in a dairy worker in Texas who had direct contact with sick cows. But scientists fear there may be many more undetected infections, particularly among farm workers. Barely two dozen people have been tested for bird flu, federal officials said at the briefing. There have been no unusual increases in flu cases around the country, even in areas with infected cows, they added. But Dr. Keith Poulsen, director of the Wisconsin Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory, said that farms are

The deal, struck late Tuesday, would "reduce harmful emissions from industry and improve public access to information," the European Council, representing member states, said in a statement. The lead EU lawmaker on the file, Radan Kanev, said it would "significantly" reduce emissions "without creating further red tape for industries and farmers" while bringing in stiff fines for companies violating it. The agreement, which still has to be formally adopted, aims to bring down air, soil and water pollution from companies by revising existing rules on emissions and landfill of waste. It would also update a European pollutant release and transfer register known as E-PRTR. The parliament noted in a statement that emissions from

New prostate cancer treatment could be on the horizon, say UK researchers: ‘Tremendously exciting’

Image
[ad_1] Prostate cancer patients could have a new treatment on the horizon. A new study published in the journal Nature has found that for some patients with treatment-resistant prostate cancer , a new process can "block" the messages that cancer uses to "hijack" white blood cells. In early clinical trials, researchers from The Institute of Cancer Research in the U.K. found that this process made advanced prostate cancers more treatable, "shrinking tumors or halting their growth," according to a press release from the university. PROSTATE CANCER SYMPTOMS, WARNING SIGNS AND TREATMENT The researchers targeted "feeder" myeloid white blood cells, which are typically pulled into cancer tumors to advance the disease. This was the first human trial to show that this approach can slow the growth of cancer tumors and make them more responsive to treatment. In the study, patients with advanced disease received two medications: AZD5069, an experimental
