In a surprising turn of events, fans have ignited a social media frenzy by fervently shipping renowned cricketer and captain of Pakistan men's cricket team Babar Azam with actor and model Hania Aamir. The speculation began when a fan edit floated on social media platform X, promptly going viral.
The edit features Hania calling Babar ‘cuter than her’ on a TV show as well as a snippet of the cricketer’s interview where he expresses the desire to work in a film with the Sang-e-Mah actor, alongside a collage of their pictures. Devotees of both celebrities have flooded online platforms with hashtags, fan art, and impassioned discussions about the duo, adding to the growing trend of virtual matchmaking in the entertainment world.
While neither Babar nor Hania has officially addressed the rumours, X users are displaying mixed reactions. One user compared Hania with Bollywood cricket wife Anushka Sharma, insisting, "Only Hania can give competition to Anushka." Lending support to this much-sought romantic pairing, one X user appealed to her followers, claiming, "Hear me out guys please! This ship is IT, this will fix us!"
"O God, this is so cute...badly want this to happen now," a user on X expressed as another stumbled upon a second fan edit. "Found another video of them, this really is my next ship," they claimed. However, not all reception was enthusiastic. Some fans found the pairing incredulous, fraught with incompatibilities. "He can never in a hundred years pull her," one person questioned Babar's charms.
Slamming fans for coming up with the edits in the first place, an X user forthrightly posed the question, "What is wrong with you all?" Another post reiterated the absurdity of the ship, humorously offering, "Stop, this is so weird" before announcing "a Sam and Hania Aamir edit".
Previously, the Mere Humsafar actor relayed her appreciation of the renowned batsman. Appearing as the featured guest on the PSL special show The Fourth Umpire in March 2023, Hania showcased her sporting spirit in a candid conversation with host Fahad Mustafa.
